Our flagship restaurant set in the heart of Downtown Nashville offers flexible private dining and event spaces, warm Southern hospitality, and our signature West Tennessee-Style Whole Hog BBQ. The Rutledge Room name honors the history of the building, which served as one of Nashville’s great listening rooms where scores of talented musicians performed over the years.

SPACES

Our Private Dining Room capacity (both the North and South Rooms combined) can welcome up to 110 people for a seated meal. We’re able to connect or separate these two rooms (creating two individual event spaces, or one large space) depending on your party size. The South Rutledge Room is the ideal choice for smaller gatherings, and seats up to 40 people. The larger of the two spaces, the North Rutledge Room accommodates 70 guests for a seated meal.

DESIGN

The warm, slightly-polished-meets-slightly-rustic design of the space is intentionally simple, to allow our guest’s to have some flexibility with their event decor. Our stunning hardwood floors -- perfect for cutting a rug! -- were salvaged from an 85-year-old cottonseed factory in Chattanooga, TN. Beautiful, distressed barn wood ceilings are both charming and dramatic, with simple white shiplap lining the walls. Exposed ductwork and a large sliding barn door separating the spaces lends an industrial-chic, Southern feel to it all. 

LARGE-SCALE EVENTS (BUYOUTS)

Need a larger space (for groups as large as 400 guests)? Our open-air Beer Garden is an ideal city-meets-country oasis. We work with each host to create customized menus that feature our signature West Tennessee-style Whole Hog BBQ, including a selection of Smoked Meats, Southern Sides, and Homemade Sweets. The Beer Garden boasts two full bars, a Music Stage, and plenty of space to build satellite bars, serving stations, and anything else you may desire for your affair.

CULINARY

Our Private Dining Room Menus highlight some of Martin's Bar-B-Que Joint signature dishes, as well as a few of Pat Martin's favorite family recipes. And just like everything else in our restaurant, this Menu is all about thoughtfully prepared, scratch-made dishes, cooked to order and smoked for up to 24 hours onsite, every single day. Our Lunch and Dinner Menus differ slightly, offering an exceptional selection of real Southern cuisine and hospitality. Please Note - Our Menus are subject to change, therefore we’re able to guarantee pricing for 30 days from the original quote.

Bar Program

We offer a full bar featuring everything from signature cocktails, BBQ-friendly natural wines, domestic staples, a robust selection of hyper-local and regional beers, many styles of Bourbon and Whiskey, and mixed drinks of every kind. We work hand-in-hand with each host to tailor a Beverage Menu ideally suited to your event. Please see below for an overview of our Beverage Service options:

Our Downtown Nashville Martin's Bar-B-Que Joint is home to four (4) Full Bars, featuring over 30 Local and Regional Craft Beers on tap, a hand-picked selection of sustainable Wines, and premium Liquor.

AMENITIES

Our Private Dining Rooms feature a Smart TV, Wifi, and Built-In Wall Speakers to accommodate meetings, presentations, celebrations, the like.

Our beautiful backyard Beer Garden is just steps from the Private Dining Rooms, and serves as an incredible welcome to guests. The Beer Garden boasts darts, shuffleboardping pong and free live music Thursdays - Saturdays for people of all ages. We have two full bars upstairs, and two full bars downstairs to serve guests.

PARKING

The majority of our guests walk to our Downtown location. For those of you who are driving, there is a limited amount of street parking and metered parking in close proximity to the restaurant. There are also several pay-to-park options (garages and parking lots) near us with good availability.

PRICING STRUCTURE

In lieu of a room rental fee, we require a Food & Beverage minimum that covers space usage for three (3) hours. Reservation times and pricing vary depending on the day of the week. No deposit is required. An automatic 20% gratuity and 9.25% Tennessee State sales tax are added to the final invoice.
